In December, Indian pepper was still the most important red chilli supplier in China, although the import volume only increased by 1.29% from the previous month.Owing to the price of chili peppers in cold storage in India has been falling down from mid-October to mid-November, some importers have bought a large number of low-priced sources. At this stage, China's domestic three cherry peppers are in a stage of strong growth, and the price is constantly breaking high. In contrast, the domestic market demand has indeed shifted to Indian peppers, which further enhances importers to buy at low prices from India. So the import volume in December increased compared with the previous month.

The export volume and import volume of dried peppers in December both increased slightly compared with November, and the gap between import volume and export volume is still large. Looking at the year of 2021, March, April and May were the peak periods for the importing Indian peppers. While the import volume in October, November and December was also high. At this time, imported cold storage peppers are the most important. Overall import volume of Indian peppers this year is very large.
